According to The Hotline, in Indiana’s 9th congressional district, former Rep. Mike Sodrel (R-IN) "is apparently pondering a re-re-re-rematch with" Rep. Baron Hill (D-IN). "If Sodrel does challenge Hill in '08, it will be the fourth cycle in a row the two have met. More importantly, they have traded victories at least once."

Other former congressmen who are eyeing another run include Jim Ryun (R-KS), Jeb Bradley (R-NH), Joe Schwarz (R-MI), and Rob Simmons (R-CT).

Joe Schwarz doesn't stand a chance at winning the GOP nomination again in MI-07. He only won it in 2004 because the conservatives were split among three candidates. It will be interesting to see if the Dems can knock off Walberg in 2008, though, in which case Schwarz might able to make a comeback in 2010.

Sodrel will win in 2008 and Hill will win in 2010 and Sodrel will win in...

I really hope that it works out that way, too.  Smiley

Sodrel is a tool. Did you know that he campaigned in an 18-wheeler blasting "Courtesy of the Red, White, and Blue" in 2004? Baron Hill isn't my kind of Democrat, but his victory was cause for rejoicing.

Sodrel thinks he can win again, huh? He barely won in 2004 when Bush was polling 59 percent of the district's vote. Obviously it helps that he's running in a presidential year, but he's not going to get those kind of coattails again.

I dont thin Sodrel would win, though Hill is nothing special.......I think enough is enough already.

Hill fits that district.  He is the same type of populist Democrat that Lee Hamilton was, who held the district before he did.

Hill is actually pretty liberal considering the district. A lot better than what we should get from there, and a lot more liberal than the district's voters probably think. I think he'll win again since Sodrel's 2004 victory was largely a fluke. If not, him and Sodrel might as well make an agreement to step down after each term and let the other one take it.

Supposedly Schwarz is considering running as a Dem.  Personally I'd prefer to see a bonafide Dem like state-rep. Dudley or ex-state-Rep. Doug Spade (who I believe is blind) from Lenawee county run against Walberg.  Either one of them would have a very good chance.

I say that they should just keep running against each other 'till one of them dies.

Baron Hill is a cool name.  I wish I could find a picture of him.  He is a big, burly man is he not?

I certainly hope that he is not one of those nerdy suit-and-tie politicians, like Phil Angelides, ugh.

Fitting for this district.
