Couldn't Bobby Jindal run for Governor in 2007 against Blanco, then run for Senate in 2008 against Landreiu? Thoughts, anybody?

Because Paul-Hagel should be

and wants everyone to do exactly what would benefit the party, even to their own detriment (sounds a bit socialist to me, but whatever). I also don't understand how a libertarian could like, let alone support, Bobby Jindal, but apparently any Republican is good.

I do not like Bobby Jindal. I was just wondering if he would be allowed to do it. Though I may be a fiscal conservative, I disagree with conservatives on abortion, marital rights, drugs, school prayer, evolution, PATRIOT ACT, foreign policy, censorship, and flag burning. And the Republicans are nowhere near to being fiscal conservatives. The last six years of the Bush administration have made more socialist policies than the Clinton administration did for the last six years of his administration. I do not support the Republicans. I support the LP most of the time, but they don't have a chance in hell of winning. In theory, I should prefer Republicans to Democrats though,  because Democrats are inconsistent idiots, while Republicans are liars. However, there are more socially liberal Republicans then there are fiscally conservative Democrats. If the Democrats want my support, they must abandon "universal" health care and social security.

Bobby Jindal sucks ass.  Anyone who isn't batsh**t insane needs to be supporting Blanco so that Jindal doesn't take Louisiana back to the dark ages.

I don't think you need Bobby Jindal in order to take Louisiana back to the dark ages, because the state's already there.

Why should I pick a kick in the crotch over a punch to the face when they're not the only options available.

Jindal was re-elected to the House in 2006, and is running for Governor in 2007. He could run for Senate in 2008, but Governor is a better stepping stone for President than Senator. As I mentioned on the Governor's Elections, I believe that Jindal will win in 2007, get re-elected in 2011 and run for President in 2016.

Unless the power of Foster Campbell somehow stops Blanco.

I'm pretty confident that Boasso will not stay in the race.

So, when it comes to November, a good scenario for Campbell would be a finish in second around 28% or so, helped by North Louisiana. With Jindal getting around 40% or so.

Jindal's worst region in 2003 in the primary and general election was North Louisiana. He was dragged down in the primary due to Ewing, and dragged down in the general election due to causes either nefarious or normal.

Foster Campbell is from Northern Louisiana. His best region in the PSC election was Northeast Louisiana, but he also represents Shreveport.

When it comes down to it, Blanco can't win. But Foster Campbell can concievably defeat Bobby Jindal.

That has to be the best and most objective piece of persuasive writing I have read in a long time.  Where do I donate to Blanco and her effort to keep federal relief out of Louisiana?

Does Jindal really harbor presidential ambitions? (scratch that every politician does; what I really mean is how serious is he?) If he runs, I somewhat doubt that he could get through a republican primary, given that a large part of the republican base sees him as... well, as a macaca :-P

However, there are more socially liberal Republicans then there are fiscally conservative Democrats.

Thats just flat out wrong. The only socially liberal Republicans are Don, Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins. The old Democrats were not fiscally conservative, but we are now.

If the Democrats want my support, they must abandon "universal" health care and social security.

We'll never get your support then, because the latter is one of the foundations of our party. The fact that Bush couldn't get a single Democrat to support him on SS reform is proof of that.
