This map does a good job of differentiating the libertarian and religious-right areas of Nevada.

Washoe also had the lowest percentage for the first round of the Gay Marriage ban.

Yes, the Marijuana amendment was confirmed in 2000 by a wider margin.

In 2000, Nevada gave a gay marriage amendment 70% and a medical marijuana amendment 65%.

What year was that (the NV gay marriage ban)? I can't find it online. Also not sure what you mean by first round.

As for 1998 Marijuana, according to this map, Storey passed it with an even higher rate.

The 2000 Gay Marriage Ban results are on the Nevada Sec of state site. Question 2.

And I say "first round" because Nevada requires amendments to be passed twice to become law.

So you're saying it hasn't been passed a second time (yet).

I can't find results on the SoS website for either year.

2000: http://sos.state.nv.us/nvelection/2000General/ElectionSummary.htm

2002: http://sos.state.nv.us/nvelection/2002General/ElectionSummary.htm

It's under Question 2 for both years.

Interesting how both years Clark County was more supportive of the amendment than the state average.

Washoe (Reno) is more libertarian than Clark (Vegas)

Washoe and Clark Counties make up around 85% of the votes for all Nevada elections.

In Washoe and Clark, Kerry won 51/48 (by almost 20K)
In the rest of the state, Bush won 65/32 (by 41K)

Titus won the Washoe/Clark combo by just over 7K (47/45) and Gibbons won the rest of the state by a 61/30 margin (almost 31K votes)

So if the Dems increase their margins in Clark and Washoe, they basically make the rest of the state irrelevant.

Storey County (Virginia City) is so frequently liberal on social issue votes.  All I know is that Virginia City is a semi-ghost town with a big tourism industry.  Anyone know much about it, and why it is socially liberal-leaning but Republican?
