dennis wicker never was a serious contender, despite the fact that he was in a higher ranking office than easley at the time.

That dark blue county in the middle really stands out. One of the candidates must have been from there.

A quick google search produced the gem that Lee Co's "civic center" is named the Dennis A. Wicker Civic Center, so I'd guess he is indeed from there. Grin

dennis wicker is indeed from sanford.  he served in the state legislature before being elected lt. governor in 1992.
