As much as I was a proponent of the war in Iraq, Obama was right.  This was a dumb war in retrospect.  It is a quagmire that we must find a way to properly get out.  President Bush was right in his 2007 State of the Union when he said "This may not be the war we asked for, but its the war we've got".  We can't just up and leave, as House Minority Leader John Boehner of Ohio is right that it would dissolve into even worse chaos than it is now.  However, we can't stay there forever.  Our military can't handle it.  Our national security can't handle it.  It would handcuff our ability to defend our country should al-Qaeda decide to attack America, again.  We can't defend an invasion of our homeland right now.  Our marines are over fighting in a war that they keep getting picked off in large chunks.

I support some Democrat's call to bring us home by the end of 2008.
