New Mexico Regional Transfer Resolution

Pursuant to Article IV, Section 2, Clause 2 of the Constitution, the Senate hereby consents to the transfer of the state of New Mexico from the Pacific region to the Midwest region.

The Southeast will be holding a vote this weekend, that if the Midwest and Pacific fail to come to an agreement over the New Mexico situation, than the Southeast will offer to trade Puerto Rico to the Pacific in exchange for New Mexico. It ain't much, but it is better than nothing, which is what the Pacific is currently being offered.

I would like to prevent the following amendment on Monday if the vote passes the Southeast.

The phrase "or to the Southeast Region in exchange for the state of Puerto Rico to the Pacific Region" shall be appended to the Resolution.

Amended version shall read:
Pursuant to Article IV, Section 2, Clause 2 of the Constitution, the Senate hereby consents to the transfer of the state of New Mexico from the Pacific region to the Midwest region, or to the Southeast Region in exchange for the state of Puerto Rico to the Pacific Region.

Just to make it clear, the resolution does not endorse any movement, it simply allows for the transfer subject to the approval of the Midwest, the Pacific and New Mexico itself.
