Looking through some of the election data found this interesting info.

I went to Stony Brook University, which is in Suffolk County in the Town of Brookhaven.  Kerry won the town of Brookhaven 49.35-48.76 or 1,189 votes.  Kerry won Stony Brook University 82.15-14.64, by 1,762 votes.
