I'm announcing that i'll step down as chair of Peace Party. I need a break, not just from Atlasia but also the forum more widely & politics, given this time period hasn't been the nicest on the forums in generally. I won't deregister or resign from the senate, but I do think it's time that someone else takes over. It is possible i might return in the future to seek the office of chair, but it's also possible that I might not. Overall I feel like we've done a great job and had a good time building up the political party and to make it into a force to be reckoned with, but it is also important that someone else may experience this position. I've been in the position for about ten months now, so it's only fair if someone else replaces me and relieves me from my duty.

For that reason, president Spiral will be promoted to interim-chair (due to his position of vice chair). The bylaws have to be followed and new elections for chair, vice-chair and whip (which is currently vacant) would be triggered.

If president Spiral doesn't have the time either to do "a little convention" he may appoint someone else as interim chair that would take care of the convention.

I'll start a petition for the dismissal of the current chair according to the bylaws and to start an election for a new chair. I need one additional petitioner.

The reason why i start this petition is the following.

1. I want a chair of Peace that believes in actual peace in the world, and we at the very least have different opinions on how to achieve that.

2. I want a chair of Peace who is actually accepting to all of Peace and not only specific people.

Part of what Peace made succesful is to be tolerant of someone else's view and opinions (and was always my philosophy as chair, even if i didn't agree with everything which happened more often than once) and not try to "censor" it.

So therefore i want to trigger a new vote because i'm no longer confident in the capabilities of the current chair to do that.

Fix the issues i have and i drop it. If not, i guess we will have a leadership vote.

All i've said is that i'm against invasion or use of US troops or US bases to counter them, but that I believe in diplomacy or trade.
