go, vote.
As for me, probably South Carolina-except it's a tad religious for my tastes.

North Carolina.

There's growing NY migration down to the NC/SC border area.

Definitely N.C. Even the politics of N.C. are better than the other states on this list.

North Carolina.

There's growing NY migration down to the NC/SC border area.

Most of the NY migration is in the Triangle, not the border with SC.

North Dakota.  It's not as bad you think.  (that'd be a good tourism promotion)

There was a big debate not long ago about taking "north" out of hte name because it made it sound cold and desolate (which it is)...

Some suggested switching the name altogether to "Baja Manitoba".. which would have been really sweet.

It's also probably the closest culturally, to Minnesota.  Which is why I like it.  They eat pickled fish and enjoy it like the best of us.

Well, they certainly wouldn't have a deficit of cheap wheat.  Or panoramic views of grass as far as the eye can see.

I voted for Mt Rushmore and the Badlands.  Also, be sure to stop by Wall Drug, the best tourist trap ever.  The Corn Palace (also in South Dakota) comes in at a close second.  South Dakota is near and dear to me because of all the great family memories I have from our road trips to Montana that took us through this state.  If I were to actually choose one of those states to live in it would be South Carolina though.
