I have taken the liberty to create a new register thread.  Please do not post on this thread other than to register to vote!  For the sake of simplicity, please keep this thread clean.

For those of you who are here to register, please write your name, your home state, and the party you wish to register as.  Registration becomes official after the voter achieves 18 posts on the forum.  A newly registered voter may only vote in an election if ten days have elapsed between the time of registration and the next election.

People can register whenever they desire.  It just doesn't become official until they've achieved 18 posts.  Wink

Welcome aboard, Demoteen04!

This has gotten just a little confusing, with two register threads.  This thread is linked in the Forum Headquarters, the other thread is stickied.  Could Gustaf and StevenNick agree on one thread?  Thanks.

Demoteen: are you aquainted with the Atlas Forum political parties?

Because, depending on your views, you could belong in:

- The United Left (UL) (left social, left economically)
- The Atlas Forum Independence Party (AFIP) (left social, moderate economically)
- The United Atlas Centrists (UAC) (center-left social, center-right economically)

Or it's just possible that you really do belong in:

- Democratic Party (center-left social, center-left economic)

I am registering people from both threads.  However, I do wish StevenNick and Gustaf would agree on one thread to be used- either un-sticky the other thread and sticky this one, or link the other thread in Forum Headquarters instead of this one.

Does our registering post count as one of the 18?

Ok.  If you change parties do you have to post it in the register thread?  If you change names, do you have to post it in the register thread?

Yes, you must state name change, state change, or party change in the register thread.

I do not have 18 posts yet to register. I intend to fill some of that gap by asking the following: should i join the United Atlas Centrists or the Republicans? I am center-left on social issues, far-right on economic issues, and moderately unilateralist on foreign policy.

also, it's a bit confusing the differences between Regions and Districts. Is districts where one actually votes for candidates? And Is Maryland then in District 1?

Have you checked out Atlas Forum Headquarters?

Regions are just for Governors, we elect Senators from districts.  Yes, Maryland is in district 1.

If you are center-left socially, you would probably fit in better with the UAC.  You might want to look at the AFIP as well (your welcome, Ilikeverin).

Districts are for electing Senators, regions for electing Governors.

Welcome to the forums.

Being chairman of the UAC this may seem obvious but I would recommend the UAC, we fit more broadly with centre-left social ideas than the Republicans do and we stretch on economic issues, one of our leading members is quite far right economically - Kemperor.

I doubt the AFIP will fit. It sounds too far left for me.  The UAC seems to be a better fit.
