Gramm and Keating endorse McCain

Former Senator Phil Gramm of Texas and Former Governor Frank Keating of Oklahoma have endorsed John McCain.

Will these two prestigious endorsements help McCain in his quest for the White House?

My guess is no, it will not, for the main reason that McCain is just flat too old and in too poor health to take on the responsibilities as Leader of the Free World.

His name was high on the list in 2000, but he opted out.  There was talk of him being the candidate in 2004 if Bush has lost, as well.

I'd noticed Gramm had in today's Wall Street Journal , http://opinionjournal.com/extra/?id=110009690, in which he described McCain as "a leader for our times"

And then there was the talk at the begining of this year of him running in 2008, which I believe is what Verily was refering to.
