After the sensational events of the terribly close election of 2004, Dino Rossi runs against Christine Gregoire again.  Who would win?

Hmm.  Tentatively, Gregoire.

In the current conditions, the Washington State GOP might want to take a long siesta.

That being said, if Rossi can manage to seem like a non-partisan breath of fresh air to the populace again, he might lose by like 200 votes again.

He'd have a better chance than McGavick did against Cantwell, but to win, Gregoire's approval would probably have to be in the negatives again.

As far as I can tell, from Gregoire's approval ratings, Washingtonians are beginning to forgive and forget with regards to the 2004 election debacle.  Unless that trend changes, I can't see Gregoire losing if it's against Rossi again.

Rossi is going to run I think, and based on what happened last time, I would expect it to be close again.

I think it depends again on the 2008 nominees.  With Guilliani, Washington could be close and see Rossi carrying it by about 2%.  If it is almost anyone else then I think it is a dead tossup
