Is just a plurality of votes required in Kentucky to win the Democratic and Republican gubernatorial nominations?

Why does SurveyUSA ask "other" when they put every candidate in the question?

40% is required in order to avoid a runoff, which would occur a month after.
Fletcher being at 33% is not good for him at all. I expect him to lose the primary with numbers like that at this point in the game.

Would it surprise you to know that I want him to win. The GOP primary, that is

Even with SurveyUSA's totally undefined geographic regions.. I think they oversampled Western KY in the GOP Primary.
If I had to weigh four regions, I'd do this
for the Dems
Louisville: 25%
Western KY: 30%
North Central KY: 25%
South & East KY: 20%
for the Reps
Louisville: 24%
Western KY: 17%
North Central KY: 26%
South & East KY: 32%

I must say that I am shocked that Jonathan Miller is not among the top three contenders for the Democrats.

I predict it will end up in this order: 1st Miller
2nd Beasher
3rd Richards
others won't do very well at all
All this poll proves is that survey USA's Kentucky polls are messed up (As is any poll on Kentucky showing Henry leading).

In that case Fletcher is probably finished, since there's no way he can win a runoff against Northrup.

Granted, a Republican runoff only occurs if Billy Harper gets 20%

Ernie Fletcher is an ass. I hope Northup crushes him in the primary. Given the merit system investigations, his 32% approval rating, and general lack of competence...it doesn't seem like I am hoping for a lot.

He's explicitly anti-liberal. I won't vote for him.

Are there open primaries in Kentucky? If so, you should vote for Fletcher

I'm still going out on a limb here and predicting that Tom Vilsack will eventually become the Dem nominee.
The others--Edwards, Hillary, and Obama, have peaked WAY too early
THE BUCKS ARE GOING TO THE FINAL FOUR!!!

Kentucky is a closed primary state.
I can still vote in the Democratic primary, because I never bothered to change my registration to independent. (There is no independent primary, obviously.)
