Maybe I should note that there's a HUGE gap between Vienna and the state capital cities and rural Austria.

In Vienna + big cities, there are primary schools which have a 90% migration background. In Vienna, 50% of all primary students have migration background. Of course, there are no statistics about race, but I guess at least 5% there are from Africa or Asia. Most migrant kids are from Eastern Europe, the Balkans, Turkey and the Middle-East (which would still classify as "White").

In rural Austria, there are not only fewer immigrants but also virtually no black or Asian people. Except maybe the kids from the pastor from Kenya who came here to replace the local pastor who retired etc. or the kids from the local Chinese restaurant owner.

Also, immigrant kids are more likely not to enter high school, or drop out in between, than local Austrians.

That's why even in Vienna, despite a 50% share of primary students with migration background, not more than 15% of high school students have migration background.

Or maybe 85% white, 12% Hispanic, 3% other. This was circa 1968. Today it would be far different.

And indeed it is, which means that almost no students are from the bourgeoise Encino area of the high school district, but rather next to all from Van Nuys. In other words, the middle class, and the upper middle class in particular, has abandoned the LA City School District, as least as to this high school area. Sad, and worrisome. The high school became a charter school in 2006, which I did not know.

When I attended my grandnephew's graduation earlier this year from the same high school as I did, it was apparent that the racial mix had changed a bit from 60/40 White/Black when I was there to roughly 50/35/10/5 White/Black/Hispanic/Asian.
