Nay.  Killing instead of reforming Radio and TV Marti causes me to oppose this bill.

Nay.  Killing instead of reforming Radio and TV Marti causes me to oppose this bill.

It's a massive waste of money that hasn't actually been able to broadcast into Cuba for at least 10 years. Your reasoning is noble but when faced with reality it is completely lifeless. TV and Radio Marti are money pits that are being kept open in order to keep the Cuban immigrant population happy.

It does have some success, just not as much as could be hoped.  It also probably should be made less Cuba-centric.  A general Latin America service, or at least one that also targets Venezuela would be useful.

This bill has enough votes to pass.  Senators have 24 hours to change their votes.
