Anyways,  he was both a freedom fighter and a horrible person.

I'm going to bump an old thread. 

It seems to me the most interesting thing about Long is that he exposes the essential and overlooked conservatism of FDR.

That and the fact that he was killed.  It is uncanny how leftists who get elected tend to end up assassinated.

Huey Long is a truly unique and revolutionary personality for one reason: He cared. Truly that in itself is enough to earn him a spot in the better half of American History.
