Of the ones that given the information could have happened:

1792 - Thomas Jefferson

Would have set the country on a better course.

Do you mean 1796? He wouldn't beat Washington in '92.

1988 presidential - Kemp
1992 presidential - Kemp
1996 presidential - Gore

Everything else stays the same, except the GOP takes back the Congress in 1998 instead.

Jefferson ran in 1792 according to the information on this site. But it'd be even better to make him the first president of the second republic in 1789.

All Republicans winning...
More realistically though...

Gore in 2000. I voted for Bush in a mock election though. (I was only in 1st grade) Gore should have won, because more people voted for him. That's one thing I disagree with Republicans on...

Richard Nixon in 1960. Only because then, maybe Kennedy wouldn't have died.

McCain in 2008. Because he deserved it. He is a decorated American hero. He was tortured because of his love for America.

For me it would have to be 1896, 1988, and 1980 (Carter winning the nomination, not the general election so much)

By importance:

1932 to Hoover, we are spared socialism of FDR
2004 to Kerry, Kerry does nearly everything the same as Bush (spare SCOTUS) and George Allen is elected president in 2008
1964 to Goldwater
