The DCCC is encouraging "a number of last year's most highly touted challengers, as well as some unknowns who stunned themselves and their opponents by coming so close," to run again in 2008, reports Roll Call.

There are "about a dozen Democratic House candidates who came close to winning in November and are either definitely running again or are seriously thinking about rematches next year."

The list of potential "retreads" include Christine Jennings in FL-13, Larry Kissel in NC-08, Eric Massa in NY-29, Mary Jo Kilroy in OH-15, Dan Maffei in NY-25, Linda Stender in NJ-07, Paul Aronsohn in NJ-05, Charlie Brown (D) in CA-04, and Gary Trauner (D) in WY-AL.

Kissel has already said that he will run again. I think that Stender and Massa are almost surefire to run again.

Trauner could run for Senate if Larry Craig doesn't run again (rumor is that he won't).

Kilroy is likely to get some primary competition from one of her fellow Franklin County commissioners

Also, I'm unsure about Jennings.  She'll be up against an incumbant instead of an open seat.  Also, I'm not sure how the voters feel about her claims that the ballot machines were faulty.  It makes the whole thing much harder to gauge.

Trauner could make it in.  He should help the Libertarians fundraise.  If they took just a little bit more of the vote % he'd be a shoe-in.
