How is it possible to believe in neither destiny or luck? Either things are determined or they are not.

That said, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 8.

Because both destiny and luck imply some sort of supernatural force?

Maybe we are taking the word luck in a different meaning. I'm just taking it to mean casual chance.

All of them.

Just curious. Why do a lot of you not believe in luck?

I took luck to mean a supernatural force that influences one's chance of success which we learn about from superstition or tradition; for example, knocking on wood or the number 13.

I also took fate as more than predestination but as the idea that something will happen to you no matter what you do. Determinism, on the other hand, I think of as something that will happen to you because you will necessarily do X. In both cases, something is definitely going to happen to you, but in the case of fate, you have no role in bringing this about, while in the case of determinism, your actions have an indispensible role in bringing it about.

Thus, I said all except for luck, fate, and astrology.

I think none of those exist. I believe that many of those may exist (and that it's not very relevant to life anyway). I feel certain that an afterlife of sorts exists, but unknowable to an alive human mind.

Yeah, I'm thinking of luck as meaning something else.  Like a unaccountable divergence from probability.

I believe in luck... Being an actor, I tend to do things like wear my costume the entire day of the show... Things like that...

I don't believe in astrology, but I find it interesting... The rest of the stuff I neither believe nor disbelieve in.

I fail to see much of a conceptual difference between luck and fate/destiny. Once you accept that the world has more than just three dimensions, you also have to accept that there is no free will.

I believe in luck. There is no reason why things would even out for a specific person and, worse, there is no reason why things don't turn out the wrong way witht he wrong things. Chance can't tell which things are important.

FOr instance, let's imagine you're in a position when you have to roll a dice. If you get a 1, you die. If you roll a 1 you've had bad luck, because all the 6s you got playing Yatzy aren't really helping.

I also believe in a universal morality, a supreme being and the concept of sin. Afterlife, heaven and hell I'm undecided on. If they exist I don't think it's in a way that any of us can understand anyway.
