It'd probably look something like this:

Minnesotans don't like the Confederacy.

I'll make the map later.

Jesse's support was rather metro-based, so I took Lewis' numbers and extrapolated from the 2006 results where support for the IP was more spread out. This is what I got:

In 2006, Independence won just 6% of the vote. Hard to draw conclusions based on that.

One might use 2002... except that in 2002, the Independence candidate simply won the area he once represented in Congress as a Democrat...

That's why I didn't. 2006 is the best we'll get.

Since my county was in the IP candidate's former congressional district, he caused the DFL candidate to come in third here Sad

Yes. But it's also pretty solidly DFL and dislikes radical rightists.

Here's what it'd look like against Penny. At least, what it would look like if I had the same appeal as Roger Moe:

I just think with his civil, polite, and more country nature he would connect with rural voters more than you, BRTD.

Some of your peculiar positions and attitudes might make you seem out of touch with the average voter.

Civil and polite? Not quite.

The north is also quite dovish.

Am I running from Minneapolis or Mankato?

From Mankato I'd do better in southern Minnesota.

States would win those two southwestern counties with lots of Calvinists before Otter Tail. And Roseau, which actually DID vote for the DFL nominee for Attorney General (they liked her Scandinavian last name.)
