Bush/Gore

Perot, who with age is fading into political irrelevance, picks up 5% nationally. He snags 2-3% in Florida, swinging it to Gore and about 4% in New Hampshire, also swinging it to Gore.

That's probably true... Perot was starting to become old hat in 1996... 2000 he would've mattered even less. He takes more votes from Bush than Gore. He swings New Hampshire and Florida to Gore, giving him the election, and the history of the world turns out WAYYYYYYYYYYYY different.

What would have happened in a 2004 Bush vs. Gore rematch without Perot?

With Bush as President, or Gore? I can't imagine Bush, an irrelevant and inexperienced former Governor of Texas, the weakest Governorship in the country, being the Republican candidate in 2004 if he lost in 2000.

Perot wins in a land slide.  Peace settles upon all creation.  Smog disappears.  Flowers bloom year round.  Dow and Nasdaq triple in value.  Opie gets three tricks for free.  It would have been heaven on Earth.

Perot wins convincingly and he couldn't win a single electoral vote even a year in which there were blowouts. I think Gore would of won. He time had passed even in 2000.

I would have voted for Nader, and Gore would have won with the help of Ross Perot drawing away paleoconservative voters from Bush.
