To this new Section 3, I would also like to add these new clauses.

2. Section 212(a)(10)(A) of the Immigration and Nationality Act [8 U.S.C. 1182(a)(10)(A)] barring the admission of practicing polygamists shall be repealed as of fiscal year 2008.
3. Section 278 of the Immigration and Nationality Act [8 U.S.C. 1328] banning the importation of aliens for prostitution or other immoral purposes is repealed as of the end of the current fiscal year.

The aye vote was for the previous amendment.

That said, we will now vote on whether to add to Clause 3:
"

Aye

This amendment takes two parts of Ernest's immigration reform bill which I find to be of good merit and adds them to this bill, since I don't intend on voting in favor of that bill.

Nay

Is it really a good idea to start importing people for prostitution and polygamy?

Whatever about the polygamists, I'm not prepared, at this time, to aid immigation for the purposes of prostitution.

Well, I copied it straight out of Ernest's bill, and I interpreted it more to mean that people wouldn't be banned from entering the country because of those things.  It's not my intention to actively seek prostitutes to come join the country.  However I will withdraw the amendment to speed things along.

I withdraw any amendments if I have any to vote on final passage, although I would like a recap of all the amendments and such considering it seems like there have been a lot.

The bill currently reads

Illegal Immigrant Bill

1. No hospital or place of medical care may deny treatment to a person based on their status as an alien or noncitizen.
2. Within two weeks after the passage of this act, employers paying below the minimum wage to illegal aliens shall be prosecuted as if they were paying below the minimum wage to legal workers.

Section 2: Amnesty
1. Any illegal alien who is not suspected of terrorism charges, nor has been convicted of an offence and sentenced to a term of imprisonment greater than 12 months in duration, may apply for citizenship one month after the passage of this act.
2. No person shall be denied citizenship based on their status at any time in the past as an illegal alien.
3. No person who is an illegal alien upon the passage of this act may be considered for deportation solely because of their alien status, and all charges pertaining towards their status as an illegal alien will be dropped.

Section 3: Regarding Legal Immigration
1. The five year waiting period applied to legal immigrants seeking to apply for citizenship is removed.

Wow, this bill is worse than it was before, especially the newly added Section 3.  However I motion for final passage.

This bill has enough votes to pass.  Senators have 24 hours to change their votes.
