I still think that you should have to have at least 5000 posts to be considered "elite", I also think that anyone with 10000+ posts has to be considered elite.

On a forum they do, how else would you measure power on a forum?  Certainly if I am not in the forum elite given my high volume of posts and frequency of mention, you should not be considered at all
