I don't remember useless sh**t like that.  While drinking, not only would I not remember what county I was in if you told me, but I wouldn't even care.

mine would be a long list...ill just give the states:

south carolina
north carolina
virginia
pennsylvania (had to bring my own booze)
massachusetts
new hampshire
vermont
quebec

i recall sitting in some dumpy motel room in altoona pennsylvania the day before hurricane katrina hit new orleans.  i sat sipping rum and watching cnn.

then there was the time i had to stop for the night in a blinding snowstorm near scranton pa.  all i had was tequilla that night.  ack.

and once i was at a motel just south of harrisburg on i-81 that was infested with truckers.  creepy place.  i had rum though.  so all was well.

ive found that it is better to be drunk in pa than sober.  it helps.

Barrow County, GA
-Home, local parties and such

Jackson County, GA
-Ex girlfriend's house

Hall County, GA
-A few parties last summer

Peach County, GA
-relatives' homes

Glynn County, GA
-beach vacation

Gilmer County, GA
-a new year's party/mountain getaway with family friends

Before this week is over, Walton County, GA will probably be added to the list.

Though eh, I don't drink at many wildly varied locations.

You must have been miserable there. Thats all suburbs. Not as bad as Wright and Carver, but close.

New Year's party at some friends of my parents. Much as I dislike suburbs, I did like visiting there before I was 21 since it gave me easy access to alcohol. Same with Scott too pretty much, as much as I hated the neighborhood and area my aunt there lives in, I got alcohol for free with no hassle.

I always forget Scott.

Speaking of Anoka, do they still talk about changing the name of the town of Coon Rapids to something more PC? I think its a cute name, they should leave it.

That's actually the city I was in, and I have not heard of any talk of changing the names.

Generations of Western PAers woudl agree with you there.  Alcoholism is seriously part of the culture in this part of the state.

The drinking hasn't happened yet, but I can answer your question based on previous knowledge. Walton is, I'd say, in the middle of a process of rapid suburbanization. There's still plenty of cow pastures dotting the landscape, and in south Walton there's still a few dirt roads, even. Subdivisions and strip malls and such keep popping up though. Loganville, due to it's proximity, is the only place I'd say is like Gwinnett. Monroe (eastern Walton, county seat) has it's own 'small-towny' atmosphere, though there plenty of new development.

I'd say, though it's less developed now, the 'sprawl' will probably move it to a level comparable to Gwinnett and Forsyth within 15 years.

Great description, thanks! Its nice to see some of the story behind the Census Bureau numbers.
