The national telephone survey of 800 Likely Voters was conducted by Rasmussen Reports 2-3, 2007. The margin of sampling error for the survey is +/- 4 percentage points with a 95% level of confidence.

McCain's support for the Iraq war has made him beatable, unlike if the war was popular when he was riding high in the polls in the fall and early winter. He is in a much weaker position now than before.
