It is a stupid question.  My main concern with flag-burning restrictions is: how far do you go?  Would it be illegal to burn an effigy of the founding fathers?  Would it become illegal to burn a banner with the word "America" on it?  Would it become illegal to burn a flag with an eagle on it, since eagle is the national bird?  Because of the whirlwind of slippery slope feel-good legislation that does nothing effective and is not a major concern for this country, I would hope that people that burn the American flag should wrap themselves in it first (although I would not require it.  The people who experience others burning the flag should turn a blind eye to it-for giving those idiots attention is the last thing they deserve.

Perhaps if America was able to get away from symbol worship (we haven't either) it wouldn't be an issue.

My stance on flag-burning is that while I don't think it's terribly effective and may cause undue distress - those who burn it have as much right to it, as those who wrap themselves in it.
