Who would win?  what would a map look like?  I know Nader wouldn't run as a third party candidate for VP but I just thought of him because  I couldn't think of anyone else.

If that happens in 2008, and I'm moving out of the country.

Also, I don't think that Gore can serve another term as VP.

HAHA!  Don't bet on it.  We would see a 2000 repeat.

Rasmussen poll, dated April 6, 2007:

Hillary Clinton (D)  46%
John McCain (R)  37%
Michael Bloomberg (I)  9%

PS: I forgot to add SD to Clinton Wink

Now that Bloomberg has ruled out a run, the map will certainly look different Smiley

Yes he can.  It's the presidency that's term limited.

Now, whether he'd want to is an entirely different question.

I believe that the amendment is interpreted to mean that all restrictions on the President also apply to the Vice President, but I could be mistaking it for having a former President run for VP (like Clinton).

I believe that the amendment is interpreted to mean that all restrictions on the President also apply to the Vice President, but I could be mistaking it for having a former President run for VP (like Clinton).

Here's the full text of the 22nd amendment:

"Section 1. No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.

"Section 2. This article shall be inoperative unless it shall have been ratified as an amendment to the Constitution by the legislatures of three-fourths of the several states within seven years from the date of its submission to the states by the Congress."

You can't be elected president more than twice, or more than once if you served at least two years of someone else's term.  That's all it says.  You can serve as vice president as long as you want.

The 12th amendment does say this:

"No person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States."

...but since a vice president has never been elected as president once, he certainly is not constitutionally ineligible to the office of president based on the 22nd amendment.

Tacredo would never accept a ticket with McCain.  It's a matter of honor.

That's what I was thinking, but for the sake of the thread.

McCain is a senile jackass, I have lost all faith in his ability to win a presidential race. The selection of Tancredo wouldn't be helping anything.

The map would be even more lopsided if it weren't for Bloomberg who would pull around 5%.
