A quick question I have about the Westminster-style parliamentary system.

Let's say around 4-5 parties win seats (2 of those have less than 5 seats). The top two parties enter into a coalition and govern together. Does the party with the third-most seats form the official opposition?

My scenario goes like this (Not based in any real nation btw)

LDP 245
GRN 220
CON 218
EXP 5
ENF 1
OTH/UND 1

The LDP-GRN form a coalition. Does the CON form the official opposition?

If it's an actual formal coalition where the cabinet has members from both parties, then the third party would be the opposition I think. but, I'm not 100% sure.

The rules state that the Leader of the Opposition is the leader of the grouping with the second largest number of Members of Parliament, by signing a formal coalition deal, the second party in this instance is judged to be part of the government therefore the second largest party is now the Con

OK, I'll assume the PM is from the LDP, and some GRN ministers, the CON is the official opposition.

Good, that solves something.
