Politics1 has him listed as a potential candidate for Governor in 2010. Please tell me he is kidding.

He has mentioned he is considering a run.

Did he mention how many points he'd lose by or how the DFL would do everything in their power to stop him or did he assume that we know all of this already?

Anything is possible. His voting record in the Senate was very good.

I'd vote for him as governor.

Mark Dayton is a joke. I'm sure the DFL can do much better than him.

For a State that has a proud Democratic tradition, Minnesota really has lean pickings when it comes to Democratic canidates.

The most likely nominee is probably Rebecca Otto.

His approval ratings were mediocre, but he would've won if he had ran again. But considering his opponent, that's not saying much.

Mark Dayton has been added as an active candidate on Politics1. This is going to be good! I want a Michelle Bachmann-Mark Dayton race just to piss off BRTD.  Tongue

The state is trending republican so fast, that Dayton wouldn't stand a chance.

Make Dayton a shoo-in? Fine by me.

oh, not this nonsense again?

yes, there's such a massive Republican trend here that the GOP barely has a third of the seats in either chamber of the legislature and no Republican has gotten over 50% in any statewide election since 1994.

I actually have to agree with BRTD this time.  I don't see any signs of Minnesota going GOP any time soon.  The more likely states in that area are Wisconsin and Michigan, mainly Wisconsin.

Just you wait and see, I know the politics of the state better than anyone here. I see it being Kennedy vs. Dayton, and Kennedy is going to blow him out of the water with atleast 60% of the vote.

Whoever the Republican is in 2008 will with the state with ease, you can take that to the bank.
