I just don't understand giving Bush a populist-leaning score.  His style might be populist, but his policy is far from it.  In the end, Bush is still as much a northeastern aristocrat as his father, just in a different package.  The only Republican I can think of who might genuinely deserve a score like +2-3 E., +5-6 S. would be Huckabee, perhaps.

I got...

Economic score: +4.00
Social score: +7.83

Your score pegs you as economically moderately capitalist and socially strongly authoritarian.

I'm looking at the pure economic facts, Daniel.  The means are irrelevant.  The methods advocated by you and Bush might be different, but they lead to similiar ends.

I disagree quite strongly with your characterization of the "economic Facts".

My system (limited government interference) MIGHT be abused by corporations (or anyone else, including ) trying to influence politicians with money. I have three answers to that:
1. Strict constitution and legal code that forbids such interference.
2. Require all campaign contributions be anonymous.  (Not necessarily a libertarian position...).
3. Hang corrupt politicians; jail corrupt staffers and those attempting to corrupt either for a long time. The law should be much, much tighter on those in power, rather than the reverse. Something that would get a normal person a few years in jail should be a life or death penalty offense for a senior elected or appointed official.

Economic score: +6.45
Social score: +8.35

The questions aren't worded in a way that would lend it's self to an accurate result for GWB.

Regardless of what he has to support in public because he's the defacto leader of the Republican Party, I'm sure his "real" Social score is somewhere in the low positives.  This guy honestly couldn't care less about things like abortion and gay marriage, even though he has to publically.  (Just like dear ol' dad.)

I am thinking of setting up a McCain/Clinton/Obama thing.

Here's Obama:

Economic score: -3.48
Social score: -4.00

Clinton:

Economic score: -4.90
Social score: -1.04

McCain:

Economic score: +2.71
Social score: +3.30

McCain's social score is based pretty heavily on the terrorism/war stuff as I answered "neutral" for things like abortion, euthanasia, marijuana and prostitution.

Why did you do that? As far as I know, as of today, McCain is entirely opposed to all of those things.

Technically, but I doubt those things really matter to him.

McCain does oppose those things only extremely reluctantly, although he is still quite socially conservative.
