I just received this sad news from Yates's cousin Edward.  He asked us to pass it along.

Well all that's really left for us to do is wish him peace right to the end.  It sounds like I'm giving up hope, but it does seem like a miracle is all we have left to hope for.

Simply terrible Sad

I do hope that the rest of David's time on this great planet is peaceful and that somehow he may be blessed with a miracle.

Horrible Sad

I hope that whatever they do, they don't keep him on constant life support if his condition is irreversible. I would hate to have my soul trapped eternally in an otherwise dead body.

But still, I hope that a miracle can happen and that he won't go so soon. Sad

Yes I just say this in my inbox as well. Truely horrible to happen to such a good man. Thank you for doing the duty of posting this on the forum, Alcon.

Thii is truely sad news, I was hoping that Yates would somehow make it through this but very sadly it looks like this isn't going to happen.

No hope then, not on this Earth at least. Don't hope for a miracle; doing so will only make the blow of the inevitable far worse.

In which case, for his sake and for the sake of his family, I hope this will now be quick and as painless as possible; as soon as he's made peace with anyone he has to do so. A brother of my Grandmother never forgave her for marrying a Conscientious Objector; when he died, they'd not seen, spoken or communicated with each other since the '40's. The first time in decades that she saw him was at his funeral.

Goodbye to David then; from what little I've heard he seems to be a decent person who doesn't deserve to go so soon. God bless. And, when the time comes, rest in peace.

I'm very sorry to here it.  I hope that David will find "a holy rest and peace at the last."

Does anyone know where god's love goes for the innocent and undeserving of such tragedy?

Those undeserving of pain and suffering are often the ones to get it the worst. For Yates, I can only hope that the suffering ends soon.

This is simply terrible.  Nobody should have to go through this - and Yates is such a great person.

I will continue praying for a miracle.

Wow, that sucks.

the doctors say he's unlikely to make it until May.

I assume that meant to say the end of May.

I agree. I am still both shocked and distraught, but David is emotionally strong, even if he is physically weak. I honestly believes he is prepared for death, and I use that word straight up. The path there should be as painless and as uncomplicated as possible Sad He remains in my prayers.

Talk about depressing. I don't how I would do if I had to see something like this happen. I hope his suffering doesn't get worse.

Yeah, I've been getting email updates, too, but didn't know whether or not to post them. After seeing this here, I will post any additional information as soon as I see it.
