Hello, what's this?

It seems to be plastered over their website. It's actually quite alright, the old rose was too 'long' - too much stem. And not a 'new' in sight.

Anyone else think they should ditch the rose for something not so... Cold War era?

What's wrong with it?  I think it's a nice symbol, myself.

Well...It may just reflect the views of one Tory...Cameron himself (if you take him at his word)...his party? Yeah...chalice...or perhaps a flaming chalice setting fire to a tree.

I loved the torch, but I will take a general election win if it means having the tree...

As for Labour... the rose sticks I guess, dunno what they could change it to.

I would have prefered a change back to the pre-Michael Foot logo (the knife, fork and spoon) but this isn't so bad really. There are at least hints of a red flag under the rose Grin

Any particular reason the labour site is in Purple? including a purple version of the logo?

That's the page for the leadership election. The main site is in red, but they don't seem to have finished it yet.

I don't think Cameron is really as liberal and environmentally conscious as he makes himself out to be. Certainly he wasn't in his votes prior to being elected leader.

Yeah, I dont know who I'd support in Britain...i like both the Orange Book Lib Dems, and Wet Tories...but Lib Dems or Tories...I'm torn...then again, its not like it really matters.

I quite like the Tory logo, the torch was interesting too. The tree just looks more suitable for a Green party somehow.

Well, it was only adopted in around 1987(?). Although of course it's an old emblem for continental European social democratic parties, if that's what you mean..

I don't like the new rose; I remember reading a booklet produced by the Labour party about how to design election leaflets and it said that you were not supposed to reverse out the colours like on the new logo; our logo is a red rose, not a white one.

I've always liked some of the European socialist logos (like the PSOE) - a big chunky flower in a clenched fist.

That's what I meant. It's not as if earlier Labour logos were better, but that was also before graphics could be designed on a computer.

Exactly; the stem is too long. They need to have simply a stylised red rose like PvDA.

Did you notice that there is a stylized fist in the centre?

Nice logos. But still a bit 'old fashioned'; they need something suited to websites, things that can be played with. PvDA has it spot on in my opinion
