Around 25-26 baht per litre.  SO... that's maybe 75 cents per litre.. so.. a liter is .264 US gallons.. so I'm paying about $2.84/gallon.

It costs me about two dollars to fill up the motorbike.

They're at $1.259 per litre around here, which translates to about US$4.32 per gallon.

Lately we've been hovering around $3.19 per gallon but today it suddenly shot up to $3.29 for some unknown reason.

No, Austria. Why ? 6$ is even cheap. In Germany itīs 7$ and in the UK itīs 8$ or something like this. Wait for the UK members to tell you the figure ...Smiley

Ouch. The US is headed down that route but due to instability in the ME plus there only being so much gas. Unfortunately we're more or less a petro state so we're screwed when it happens.

I just did some research. I found 2 good graphics from clever-tanken.de (which is a site providing the cheapest gas stations, something like gaspricewatch.com ...)

Here you go:

Diesel fuel is most expensive in the UK @ 7.2$ the gallon, cheapest in Estonia @ 4.3$ the gallon.

Regular Gas is most expensive in the Netherlands @ 7.8$ the gallon and cheapest in Estonia @ 4.7$ the gallon.

LOL, and you american gas gripers are complaining about your 3$ prices ... just laughable Tongue

Thankfully there's encouraging developments with toyota working on an all electric car and new hybrids keep coming out.

I have a fuel efficient car in which I drive about 45 miles per gallon. Therefore the current 5$ diesel price is OK for me.

Something like 11 SEK a litre. So that's about 1.50 USD per litre. Of course, most of that is taxes (gas taxes here are a couple of hundred percent)

In fairness, TB, America is so arranged economically and architecturally that you have millions of people working for $8/hour driving an hour to work every day.  You can see the inherent difficulties this presents.

In fairness, TB, America is so arranged economically and architecturally that you have millions of people working for $8/hour driving an hour to work every day ...

...with their gas guzzling cars.

I know several people here too who are driving at least half an hour each day to work. If you drive 2500 miles a month to work (=100 miles each day) and have a fuel eficient car (=40 MPG) your monthly driving cost amounts to 190 $. When you earn 8$ an hour, you earn 1800$ a month. Therefore 190$ for driving to work is OK.

PS: I donīt know if there is a tax-deductable commuter system in the US like we have it in Austria. If your workplace is more than 13 miles away from your home, you can deduct 55$ per month, more than 25 miles 110$ and more than 38 miles you can deduct 165$ a month.

Just watched a segment on Oklahoma City NBC News at Noon that a station in Gorda, California is charging nearly $5.00 a gallon for premium.  $4.99 to be exact

CA$1.25/liter, which works out to CA$4.73/gallon, or US$4.31/gallon.

I always laugh whenever Americans tell me how expensive gas is. Tongue
