It's about $3.25 for regular right now.  I heard that the price of oil jumped on Friday though, so I'm expecting it to go up.  I topped off my tank yesterday for that reason.

Unfortunately its about 70 miles round trip to work, but I get about 30 MPG so it's not that bad.

Another good thing about you taking the night shift you can at least get good gas mileage, going 15 mph on the LIE at 8:30 Am or 6:00 PM wouldn't be good for gas mileage.

Its all about RPMs. Ugh...I'm way too heavy on the gas in town. So many stop and gos.

True, although efficiency tends to drop off over 60mph, and with the traffic so light I'm often tempted to start speeding heavily when I'm heading home at 1am and the traffic is light.  Often I find myself approaching 80 when I look down at the speedometer and I have to ease off the gas.  I'm in no mood to get a speeding ticket, especially since my record is clean.  I'm trying to do no more than low 70s, but you don't even notice when there's no one in front of you.  I've tried turning on the cruise, but the traffic is just heavy enough that it's not really feasible.

True when i use to work for a mortgage company (which was in Babylon) I generally went in around 11:00 or so.  The traffic was generally pretty light and going east on sunrishe Highway, i would reach 80mph + without realizing it, especially once Sunrise opens up into more of a real Highway once you get east of 109.

I paid $2.97 last week, same place just had it $3.01.  Have seen a few places a little cheaper and higher.

The same place is now $3.579.   Saw some others ranging from $3.559 to $3.699.  Saw on Long Island Gas Prices that the cheapest is $2.99, though not sure if that is true or not.  Average on LI is $3.614
