11:27 P.M. EDT

Just a quick update.  He's pretty stable, but we're
worried - he's become increasingly tired over the past
few days and has trouble breathing, having to take
very deep breaths.  He's monitored by a nurse 24/7,
and one of his family members is almost always in the
room.  God bless you all.  Thank you for the prayers.

I can only hope the pain subsides soon... Suffering this way is inhumane. I just hate this whole situation... It's just not right... It's not right.

It is interesting how quickly his health declined and then stabilized.  Obviously his body is fighting back, which is a good sign.  I just hope his conscious awareness of pain is low.  After dealing with a relative in the ICU for 4 months under heavy sedation, the last thing I want him to deal with is uncontrollable pain.
