so TPP is short for The Political Process, a PC game that lets you play through American Politics as whatever character you make. you can decide your policies, your location, and edit the political landscape of the United States. i love it and i wondered, since this is a politics forum, if anyone else had played it here.

It's an interesting looking spreadsheet manager, though I wouldn't pay $15 for it.

I think TPP has potential in that it is taking a slightly different angle than most other political games.  You're managing the career of your character, other than running one-off campaigns or only twiddling policy knobs.

But a character-focused game should have more room for RP and more complex character interactions.  TPP fails quite clearly at both.

that’s a very fair assessment, though it is still in development. i think there’s gonna be more stuff in that vein down the pipeline

Additional features I'd like to see:

- Historical scenarios with the actual politicians and issues of the given era. Or maybe just an option to start the game at any given point in American history.

- Ability to edit statistics at a county level.

- Versions based in other countries.

- More of the day-to-day stuff that politicians do, like interviews, social media etc.

Once they release a version for Mac I'll more than likely pick it up.

All the main-line political simulation games are imo pretty underwhelming right now.
