Why would a PKK bombing cause a backlash against the AKP government? Because the government's security measures weren't tight enough?
Oh, it's PKK. I thought it was Al Quaeda.
I doubt it was PKK actually, although that's what police claim.

Why should the fact that Al Qaeda hates Erdogan's guts, though (and there have been Al Qaeda bombings in Turkey in the last five years) cause an anti-AKP backlash?

because AL Qaeda are islamists, and so is Erdogan's party.
So those who like al Qaeda get the point and vote SP instead of AKP? Or what are you trying to say?
