"I've fallen out of love with politics."

-Al Gore in TIME magazine May 2007

Give it up people.  He obviously has.  It's over.

Did you watch it?  He said that the American people should not have to live through endless presidential campaigns that begin as soon as one ends.  He said that he thinks it too early for the campaign to begin.

He articulated policy statements on Iraq and several other political issues other than global warming.

Why can you not see that he is the only candidate who is controlling his message?  He gets to focus on the big issues while avoiding the endless, mindless daily scrutiny of the presidential campaign press corp.

He has just published his second book.  Why?  Because he wants to differentiate his message.

He is going to run and most people will believe it wasn't his idea.

Shoot, I forgot about Al Gore being on tonight. Did I miss anything interesting? By the way, I live abroad so I want to ask right away if CNN International is giving the Republican Presidential Debate or only the American CNN is giving it. Smiley

Al Gore was on Letterman tonight. I thought it was a good interview.

Why?  Would they die having to listen to another Algore campaign?

Perhaps, in fairness jmfcst, I did overstate the situation, and deserve your witty retort, but do you not agree there is some Democratic drift in the states mentioned?

I find the nobody Thompson a bit.. well, there's just not much there, and I think it will be hard for a carbon copy of Bush to disassociate himself from the dreadful legacy in places that are 1) in the case of Ohio in economic free-fall, and 2) in the case of Colorado and Nevada, changing rapidly to become less Republican and more Independent due to demographics.

I think Gore is the perfect candidate to maximize any anti-Bush effect, and yet another dull witted Southern religious extremist is probably not the best way to make people forget GW and vote Republican yet again.
