I think you get the idea. Don't take this as a defense for Gonzales. I feel that he should resign, but not for the attorney scandal, but for his defense of the Patriot Act, Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act, etc.

I don't get it.  As far as I can tell, this is a false dichotomy, unless you feel that the worst person in the world is the only one who should get fired.

No, I just like consistency. I feel that both Janet Reno and Alberto Gonzales deserve to be given the boot, but I'm just pointing out the hypocrisy of those who defended Janet Reno in '93 but attack Alberto in '07.

Do you have any such 'hypocrites' in mind, particularly?

This is perhaps the most blatant example of a false dichotomy ever on this forum, and that includes the drivel polls BRTD puts up.

Ummm..., let's see, AG 1 oversteps their bounds and kills 77 people with tear gas, a majority of whom (if not 76) were innocent and exercising their 2nd amendment right that the AG opposed.

The other had their leader fire 8 attorneys when it was within their power to do so.

I'd have to go Reno with this, but the left, as usual gets a free pass in the name of "those people were evil"

Oh, that's what you're talking about.

So what are you suggesting, that unless we go back in time and rectify something that occurred 14 years ago, we're not allowed to rectify anything else that happens afterwards?

Two wrongs don't make a right.  Last I checked, Janet Reno is not still in office.

Well, I think that Janet Reno should be/have been convicted for what she did. I'm not advocating 2 wrongs=right, but I do think that Janet Reno should be/have been executed.
