LD, Taunton.

A new MP in what used to be a very safe Tory seat (until 1997).

A typical Tory by background, although he's a LibDem. Gained from the Tories in 2005 (it had been won by Jacqui Ballard in 1997 but she lost in 2001, partly due to her support of a fox-hunting ban in a rural area).

Sorry, I confused this with Tatton, my mistake.

This was the seat the Tories lost because of the "fake kidnapping" of the Tory MP, IIRC.

I believe Labour came fairly close to winning this seat in '66.. I was surprised to hear it was once a Lab-Con marginal..
