I will take India/SE Asia in that case, and will be Laloo Prasad Yadav, ex-PM and husband of the current PM of Bihar.

Hugh, this very sort of situation is why Al Gore invented the internet. Use it.
That's what I was thinking - the internet makes that "know their face" thing easy.
But how can I send pictures if I zap somebody I personally know but who is not a celebrity? There's this Jaipur Autorickshaw driver I'd intended to give a better job to just for fun's sake, for example...

Kay, y'all- I've got reports from Harry, Verin, Lewis, Bono, and Demonking. So I'm waiting on Al, Josh, Hugh, States, and Soulty.

About half of the reports had you zapping the national leaders- you clearly cannot do that from the rules. Just so you know. So that has been disqualified.

I'm thinking of being soft the first turn- boosting you into power if it's at all believeable and suspending penalties but not bonuses until you gain power.
Wait a sec - did I get this right that only the leader of the leading country is off limits or are all the leaders of countries off?
Also, have you considered this: if I manage to control additional territory, somebody else can still zap the people there, right? Or can I?

Lewis- you could zap Musharaff, but not Singh, for example. You did folow this rule, so don't worry.

If you OCCUPY additional territory, it belongs to the alien designated owner. If you gain LEGAL CONTROL of additional territory, even if you had no claim to it, you can zap it's people.
So its current owner would have to cede it to me, right?

Yes, by e-mail diplomacy. Whether it is peaceful or at gunpoint is irrelevant.
Yeah, I got that.

Awesome! I mean, really very cool! I'll send you the SIS for the Despotic Federation. I also have a first turn complete; the extended first turn is over Sunday so you can use mine if you want.
Al's first turn is a bit lame...I hope he wants to say: "Sorry I didn't get into this yet, but I definitely will next week."

You didn't give me any hints why this failed...

Also, Kim Jong Il was born in Khabarovsk, Russia, and cannot possibly have been zapped by Sen.

Due in four days time.

Another month fictional timespan.

I have to do all the following in one day:

* Mow my back lawn (a 45 minute task)
* Mow someone who lives on my street's lawn (a 20 minute task)
* Practice trombone (a Huh minute task)
* Write my story (a hours long task)

Oh dear Tongue
Are you telling me your street has a lawn, someone lives on it, and you have to mow him? I find that hard to believe...

Yeah, I guess it does. Oh well. I'll get around to posting those last three updates, and then have a great school year, everyone to whom that applies; to the rest of you, keep living and stay healthy.
I'll try to. Smiley
