I like how Pennsylvania's State Officers are elected.  2 in the mid-terms and 3 in the presidential cycles.

What do you think of it, especially you Pennsylvanians?

It works out well, I have certainly not had any complaints to date.

That's basically how I feel but I do get wary of the row offices being in Presidential election years because most just vote for the candidate of the party that they're voting with for President. They deserve more attention. However, running in the midterm years would be too much because I don't agree with the Governor and the row officers being elected at the same time. I especially wouldn't want Governor and President up at the same time.

Yeah, that last part is especially true. If that were the case, the state would be one massive Presidential race. Angry

I prefer the New Jersey method -- federal elections on even years; state elections on odd numbered years, with county races all in between.

I personally would prefer electing state officials on the same day as the President - it guarantees a higher turnout and provides greater democratic legitimacy.

It also discourages people from actually learning anything about their local candidates and instead voting based on who they support for President.

The quantity decreases but the quality increases.  That's fine by me.
