Nonsense. I've got issues with the way some things have panned out post-devolution, but overall Wales is better off (economically and in other ways) than it was a decade ago.

If the US diverted its focus into Rugby it would probably be world champions in a short time indeed Grin I'm sure it is the most popular game across the pond in an alternate universe.

If more than a third of Australia actually played rugby, we'd absolutely massacre everyone. As it is, about a third of Australia is rugby-land, and even then league is dominant everywhere but the ACT (where they are roughly equal).

All southern hemisphere semi-finals, here we come!

Argentina will beat Scotland, and Australia, South Africa and New Zealand are too good to lose to any team other than one of the other two. I'm hoping for Argentina vs. Australia in the final, but it'll probably be South Africa vs. New Zealand.

WRONG.

Allez Les Blues!

Funny how New Zealand never quite make it, isn't it?

Well, England disgraced themselves by winning without scoring a single try, but we should have done better. New Zealand? Chokers. Argentina world cup victory Smiley

Personally I'm rooting for an Argentina - France rematch in the Final. Though the Argies were extremely lucky today it must be said.

Ah, World Cups...last year it was Brazil that were going to the tournament and people thought that it was all they had to do to win it-just turn up......but they were turned over in the quarter finals by their old World Cup nemesis....FRANCE!!!

Curious symmetry, eh?

Pass for the try was still forward, though...    South Africa to win it. There is a certain symmetry there too...a team that takes it all when it's thrown at it but still holds out and grinds out the scores and wins. GERMANY?

And if it IS an Argentina-France rematch, don't be surprised if it ends the same as game one. Argentina were less intense tonight, unsurprisingly...they will be better when back to their usual position of underdogs.

As for England? Only two games from more immortality? Nah, not going to happen this time....I think!!

Worst game of Rugby I've watched for ages. And I speak as a neutral.

England are in the final. Thanks to Johnny Wilkinson. Again.

Not so; Wilkinson was rubbish in the first half. Main reason England won is because France gave away too many penalties.

It has been a really surprising World Cup. Australia and New Zealand out before the Semi-Finals Wtf? I hope Johnny Wilkinson breaks his foot over the week, so then England's chances of winning back-to-back World Cup's are deminished.

I wonder if the Devil will repay Wilkinson with a second consecutive Rugby World Cup title next Saturday? Hopefully Jonnie's hell will begin on the weekend when he breaks his foot in the dying stages of the match against South Africa.

It's not uncommon to hear support for Anyone but England around this country, and certainly I have been known to be not entirely displeased when England are less than  sucessful, but the level and vociforousness of comment in this thread has been quite remarkable - especially towards Mr. Wilkinson.

Yes, especially with how cute he is huh?

I don't know, I don't like and never have liked South Africa, but if England wins again, I know the rest of the Home Nats' will NEVER hear the end of it, and I don't like my Six Nations laced with English snobbery.

Looking over comments here and in the media, I think I must be missing something. Wilkinson is playing dreadfully at the moment; if England had a half-decent kicker they'd have beaten France heavily.

England deserve to get pummelled by the saffies, for three reasons:

1. They're English, and they play ugly rugby, and acknowledge it themselves
2. They're English, and they base their whole game on one type of play with no flexibility
3. They're English, and the English automatially deserve to lose to any of the ex-colonies, even the South Africans.

Indeed. I checked the match box score expecting a drubbing and saw he missed a conversion, hit two of three penalties, and hit only one of four drop goals.
