First off, making this poll made me realize how cartoonishly big the 2016 GOP field was. I forgot about the whole "kids table" aspect of it.

At the time, I remember liking quite a few candidates. Trump still had a sort of moderate-ish image at this point, and without hindsight that would've been something interesting to me, though with hindsight I am certainly not going to choose him. I had favorable views on Paul, Rubio, Bush, Christie, Kasich, Pataki, Graham. Even Perry and Jindal weren't out of the question for me.

Huckabee, Santorum, Carson,Walker, Crus and Fiorina were all pretty unappealing to me, on policy (in the case of the first three in particular) and personality (the last three).

I'll choose Christie out of this bunch, as he was someone who I had wanted to run for president for a long time, though I knew his chances were shot once Bridgegate happened. I'd have been happy with any of the choices outside of those six I mentioned, however. (Well, and Trump, with hindsight.)

Kasich and Walker were clearly the 2 best in terms of record with Kasich number 1 as he has a great record in congress and as governor

Rubio, especially considering his more "common good conservative" turn the last few years.

Out of all the credible candidates, Kasich, out of all the candidates, Pataki.

Back in 2016, my preference went:

Webb>Graham>Pataki>Kasich

I ultimately voted for Kasich, primarily because he had a rally in my area I went to. Looking back, I'm not sure what I was thinking with this entire election.
