Whatever you do, DO NOT visit Times Square.

You'll just block me going to and from work.

Seriously, go see the museums on Fifth Avenue, the Empire State Building, and the UN.

I visited there in 2002.  The major stuff I went to see was the Empire State Building (you can go all the way to the top), the Statue of Liberty, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the New York Stock Exchange building.  Also, don't leave without seeing a Broadway musical.  Those are just awe-inspiring.

If you get a chance it would be neat to see some picture of the construction of the Freedom Tower.  I've also heard there are some really moving tours of Ground Zero given by 9/11 survivors and the family members of victims.

Visit the NASDAQ board, they have a guided tour of the building which is very intersting if you're into finance.
