All those signed up, and any other late comers, here is The Thread for gameplay. In here, post any press releases concerning new routes, aircraft, services, etc. You may also discuss mergers, alliances etc.

After one week, you will be allowed a third airline conditional on your airline's success.

For fun, players may also write flight reviews for each other's airlines (but not their own)- remember to be nice in reviews though.

Remember to play realistically and have fun expanding your routes!

Okay, I'll kick it off:

TransAsia Seeks Regulatory Approval for China Services, Drops Tokyo Service

Seoul-based TransAsia Airways has commenced negotiations with the Chinese government for approval to serve up to a dozen more destinations on the Chinese mainland, and, for the first time ever, allow a foreign carrier to operate domestic services in this rapidly growing market.

At a press conference, manager Kang announced ambitious plans to enter the market, which is still tightly regulated to foreign companies.

"We're looking at second-class cities in China: Wuhan, Tianjin, Chongqing, Harbin, Qingdao, and other places that have just opened up to the outside, and we hope to tap into this lucrative business, and serve even more customers."

Kang continued, outlining that his firm seeks more access to booming markets in Southeast Asia and the Indian Subcontinent.

"We have our Singapore hub, which is well-positioned to serve Indonesia, India, Thailand, all with convenient access to world air routes. And in the long-term, we are going to revolutionize air travel between Asia and north America. Low fares and partnerships with those established in the US market will help us achieve this goal, and we look forward to this success."

The company has, however, announced plans to drop its uncompetitive routes to Narita, Japan, and introduce thrice-weekly flights to Fukuoka within the next few weeks.

New Indonesia and East Timor Routes Announced

TransAsia has introduced a new twice-weekly service to the central Java city of Yogyakarta, in its first entry in the Indonesian aviation sector. In addition, one weekly flight from Yogyakarta to the East Timorese capital of Dili has also been announced, giving this new nation direct access to Singapore and the Asia Pacific region; this was made possible by a competitive bid for a contract issued by a United Nations team in East Timor.

S C A announces XM Radio receivers will be installed in all seats and passengers will be given free headphones.

SCA's business partner Pan-Western Airways announces that the same will apply on their flights, bar those on the CRJ-200, also 20 channels of live DirecTv will be offered for free on all 767 flights and for a $1 fee, which can be added to the reservation on Embraer and Airbus flights.

In addition to this announcement, PWA also announces a sale!!!

If your roundtrip flight involves a leg on PWA's good friend SCA, and you pay with a WestRewards Visa then you can save as much as $150, and for flights to Albuquerque double WestRewards can be accrued. Buy NOW!
