J.J. was an old poster with quite a lot of posts on the forum though, so if this is him, then it might actually be credible information.

I know who J.J. was, and I'd take this more seriously if he posted from that account. I don't know if he scrambled his password and left, but this "J.J. 2" fellow smells like a sock.

I can understand wanting to be skeptical but remember that Kal's "death" was reported less than 24 hours after he last logged in IIRC. Grumps' last login time makes this more plausible.

We're currently discussing it. An IP and email address check indicates that that's the real J.J. from the old days, so I am leaning towards it being real.

He is/was not a young man and his health was (this is not a secret) not great, so, unfortunately, this is certainly plausible.

If true, awful to hear. He was very nice when I reached out via PM conversations from time to time. We had disagreements but he didn't take himself too seriously to be unable to befriend folks of differing opinions. RIP.

I hope this isn't true, but if it is may he RIP and may his memory be a blessing for his family and friends. He was a good person and great Atlasian. His humor was unmatched and he always brought joy to a place that needed a good laugh.

If this is true, this is incredibly terrible news. RIP to a truly great person and an Atlas legend, and prayers for his family and loved ones. His presence will certainly be missed.
