What would it be?  This could provide some interesting and (in my case) odd answers.

I would go back to June 2006 and stop my friend from stealing a shaker of garlic powder from a pizza parlor

How bout you?

1) No show up at the county building for a hearing on our home owners association, which resulted in the development manager threatening to call security on me.  (I'm really not that confrontational in person, but the guy was just being an ass.)

2) I wouldn't have waited 3 extra months to propose to my friend, which ended up me losing her to someone else.

Not asking my friend to our Winter Banquet (kinda like a smaller version of prom 2 months before our actual prom) b/c I figured my girlfriend wouldn't like that too much.

I might have been a little more assertive and decicive in my interview with a certain up and comming software company back in 1990

Then again, given how pulling one thread in a life can switch things aroud drasticly, perhaps not.

Nothing because it got me to where I am today. I regret nothing and I'm  overall happy.

I would have shopped around more when I applied for college and tried harder to get a swimming scholarship.

I would have not stayed officially enrolled at university at a certain point in my life... when was it exactly?... lemme count... october 2002. For two years, I was officially enrolled while (successively) not doing anything, working in a kindergarden, not doing anything, teaching school in India, and not doing anything.

That decision was supposed to save my dad tax but due to later law changes ended up costing both of us money, and probably wasn't entirely sound even then.

You make a good point. There are things I would like to change if I had them to do over, but as you point out small changes years ago could have catastrophic results today. I think I'll just leave it as is.

I would have told my high school principal to go eat sh**t, so I wouldn't have to languish in the world's worst school for 3 years.

I would've not fallen down the stairs when I was four.
I would've gone to Prom with a date.

Those are basically the two regrets I have in life... One's caused me serious psychological damage and numerous phobias. The other, well, I just think it would've been nice.

Oh yeah, and (pretty much literally) pushing that girl out of bed when I was 17. But I was a little puritan and had sort of a girlfriend at home...

I'd not have joined this forum and found something productive to do with the 83 days, 23 hours and 49 minutes the stats say I've spent on it. Wink

The one event that comes to mind is something I'm not sure should be changed - my father's murder. If it hadn't happened, more than one event would have changed. For instance, my mother wouldn't have remarried. I can't even say for certain I would be who I am today if it hadn't happened.

I'd say its pretty self-explanatory. It was on holiday, thence the "at home" part.

Most definitely.  With an important figure like that, I can promise you that you would be a different person today.  Without the loss of him, who knows how your temperament and/or outlook on society would be today.  (And I am sorry about your loss.)

I'm not gonna get into too much detail, but if it had to be something I had control over, it would involve this girl I know... I just would have acted a bit differently... saddly, I met her when I was going through a 2 year down period and a lot of the things I did gave her the wrong impression of me.
