Will the seat projections from the exit poll be any better than the UNS? Do the exit pollsters make an active attempt to nail down what's going on in marginal seats or are they just more interested in the national vote share?

I think they do make that effort....after all, in 2005, their seat projection was spot on.

Think of it as a 'reverse' opinion poll. The exit poll data comes mostly from the marginals to give an idea of the seat tally and then they extrapolate a projected national share from that.

Interesting. Sounds excellent.

There'll be one released at 10:02pm, just after the polls close.

Where can we watch it ?

Does any news company have a live stream that can be viewed outside the UK ?

Exit poll data collection stops at about 9.50 this evening according to Sky. Should be ready for Big Ben.

Regardless of who gets in yes you really should wish good luck to anyone dealing with this debt crisis! Joy should not be taken out of any crisis that affects ordinary people regardless of who's in charge.

To our UK posters: Who is expected to come in first?  And are they expected to get a majority, or will we be seeing a coalition formed?

But if you had to make an educated guess (since that's what we pretty much do here with all of our predictions)...?

Tories will come first and there will be a hung parliament. There will be no coalition.

I'm not sure if this new tendency to appeal to the apparent inherent evil of Xahar in all things even remotely related to forum policing or this damn game is especially helpful.

The BBC Website just posted this.  It'd made me laugh, so I figured I'd share it:

Quote
2133  How are the leaders whiling away these nervous hours? Well, according to the Press Association, Gordon and Sarah Brown had lamb stew for dinner before the prime minister went off for a nap at about 8.30pm. David Cameron, meanwhile, spent two hours chopping logs.

For what it's worth, Intrade now has a Conservative majority on the rise, and "No Party to have overall majority" is falling.

Huh. I'd have thought David Cameron would have servants to chop logs for him.

No, it fits in well with the Tories' "we are close to people like you" shtick.

Good Lord.  MP Cameron, just FYI, George W. Bush is not someone you want to emulate.  I thought you were going for the Barack Obama image?

PS: Lamb stew is tasty and the idea of Gordon having homemade lamb stew is the most favorable thought I've had of the man since he was Chancellor of the Exchequer.
