It's a paradox that uninformed idiots voting might end up destroying democracy, as this was THE key conservative objection to democracy as a form of government (mob rule) back in the day. It would seem that democracy is indeed eating itself.

The question is, how do you solve it in the short and median run? You basically would have impose "vote tests", in which basic questions are being asked. Anyone who fails to reach a certain score isn't allowed to vote or their ballots are nullified. Ergo, less turnout and not more.

That would be viewed very negative and arguably unconstitutional.

I think the change needs to come from our education system giving people better understanding on the system and also generally encouraging civic engagement.

Constitutional questions aside, I think one interesting system could be in order to gain the right to vote, everyone must pass some sort of high school civics and government class, but again this brings up simillar problems to having a test.

This makes sense as to why the 65 up and white demographic isn’t moving to Trump but the under 40 crowd seems to be sky rocketing to the right. TYT doesn’t simp for Biden. The only crustacean on YouTube that still gives Biden a daily rimjob is David Pakman, and he’s a total clown.

Agreed. Actually interesting that my boss said stuff like this years ago, and I thought it sounded somewhat arrogant in public (although he's a smart guy). I thimk you're not wrong though, and that also applies to Europe with regard of the rise of right-wing populists.

Probably too busy paying the bills and working; like most Americans. This is all 2016 redux.

So it makes sense to vote for Trump, because he's the one who raises your minimum wage to at least 15$ an hour.

Still wouldn't beat Uncle Joe's inflation rate. Ironically a $15.00/hourly wage is already pretty subpar in most (predominantly blue, oddly enough) States.
